Prabhu Insurance provides Rs 2.5 million for Rasuwa flood relief

KATHMANDU: Prabhu Insurance has provided Rs 2.5 million to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation after severe flooding of Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district.

The insurer said the contribution was made to help families and communities affected by the disaster, which struck the region on August 26.

Prabhu Insurance pledged ongoing support throughout the relief and recovery effort and said affected residents will not be left to manage the crisis alone. The company added that special priority is being given to ensuring affected policyholders face no additional burden or hassle, with streamlined coordination and service delivery in place.

Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Prabhu Insurance, said, "The core objective of the insurance business is to protect policyholders during times of risk and disaster, providing reliable support in difficult circumstances." He added that the company is committed to settling flood-related claims "as swiftly, simply, transparently, and effectively as possible" once necessary legal and technical procedures are completed.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of life, the company offered condolences to bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the inundation.

The organisation said responding to natural disasters and meeting social responsibilities during times of national crisis is a collective obligation for businesses and citizens. While acknowledging that financial aid cannot fully offset the tragic losses suffered by victims, it said the funds represent a commitment of solidarity and sympathy with the impacted communities.

Prabhu Insurance extended gratitude to government agencies, security forces, local communities, volunteers and partner organisations involved in emergency response, and expressed confidence that joint efforts will drive reconstruction and rehabilitation in the region.
